Youth Art Month “need to knows”

Youth Art Month will be upon us in the blink of an eye. Be prepared to submit your student work for jurying with all the necessary paperwork that goes along with it:)

This student art exhibit is a great way to recognize the hard work, dedication, and creativity of some of your outstanding student artists!

There will be a month long exhibit of student work at the San Diego Art Institute in heart of Balboa Park from 1/24- 2/23.

Mega-Arts Conference Registration is OPEN!

Happy New School Year, Art Educators!

Now that the year has been kicked off, the moment you’ve all been waiting for is finally HERE!  Registration for the upcoming “Mega-Arts Conference” in Balboa Park on Oct. 11 is now OPEN!

This is the first ever “Mega-Arts Conference” in San Diego County.  It is “Mega” in that it is a huge professional development conference offering general sessions to all educators in the Visual and Performing Arts as well as subject specific sessions in each of the VAPA content areas.  Attendees may also cross over and attend sessions of other content areas if they choose.

The conference is being held in the Visual and Performing Arts institutions of Balboa Park on Friday, Oct 11, 2013.  Visual Arts sessions are being presented in the facilities of The Mingei International Museum, The Museum of Photographic Art, The San Diego Museum of Art, The Timken Museum as well as outdoors on the newly repurposed Plaza de Panama.

The registration fee for all content area educators is $50 and includes breakfast and lunch as well as access to all general and breakout sessions during the conference.  For Visual Art educators, the registration fee also includes membership in the San Diego County Art Education Association and waived entry fees for the student art exhibitions produced by SDCAEA throughout the year.  Be sure to answer “Visual Art” as your area of expertise to become a member of SDCAEA, free with your $50 conference registration fee.
